Clay Creations & Garden Dreams at Beyond Fun!

Today at Beyond Fun, our garden got a little more personal, and a lot more creative.

Shreya and Addison led the way as we began by sitting together and writing a list of all the plants growing in our Beyond Fun community garden. It was a great memory challenge and teamwork exercise, recalling what we had planted and watching everything slowly come to life.

Once our list was complete, it was time to get our hands messy. We rolled out the clay carefully, following step-by-step instructions to cut and shape our very own plant picks. There was plenty of concentration as we searched for the letter stamps, helping one another spell out each plant’s name correctly before pressing the letters firmly into the clay.

Rob joined the session after his PC time and job search, jumping straight into the creative flow. It was wonderful to see everyone supporting each other, passing tools, double-checking spelling, and celebrating each finished piece.

After stamping, the plant picks were baked and then left to cool (the waiting was the hardest part!). Once ready, we painted them in bright, cheerful colours and set them aside too dry. Each one has its own personality, just like the people who made them.

And because no garden is complete without a little character, we also created a big, fat, cheeky snail ornament that’s sure to bring smiles when it finds its home among the plants.

Next week, the real excitement begins, we’ll be matching each clay pick to its plant and placing them proudly in the garden. Stay tuned as our creative markers find their perfect spots!

At Beyond Fun, every activity grows more than just skills, it grows confidence, collaboration, and community.
