Creative Connections: A Festive In-House Art Day at Beyond Fun!
Choice, creativity, and festive fun defined yesterday’s in-house art day. Participants chose their own projects, working at their own pace, which fostered engagement, built confidence, and encouraged skill development as they explored different artistic interests.
Some participants joined Fran for a pop-up card lesson, carefully making Christmas tree cards for their families. The session fostered creativity by encouraging original card designs, improved fine-motor skills through precise folding and cutting, and brought joy by allowing participants to create something personally meaningful for their loved ones.
Kayla painted a canvas, creating a festive Christmas scene with thoughtful colours and details. Her work showed focus, imagination, and confidence as she developed her ideas step by step.
Mo and Alicea challenged themselves to build a LEGO cactus, testing their patience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Meanwhile, others enjoyed making scratch art decorations, revealing bright colours and patterns through calm, focused movements.
It was a day of self-expression, collaboration, and festive creativity, highlighting how art supports confidence, independence, and connection in a relaxed, inclusive environment.
