A Day of Candles, Counting & Community: Learning Through Fun at Beyond Fun!
Today at Beyond Fun, our participants enjoyed a hands-on day filled with learning, laughter, and creativity, the perfect blend of life skills and heartfelt fun!
The morning kicked off with Shreya and Fran taking a special trip to Woolworths to collect fresh, healthy veggies for tomorrow’s exciting sushi-making lesson. Shreya took the lead by pushing the trolley, counting cucumbers one by one, and learning to stack groceries on the conveyor belt at checkout neatly. Watching everything add up on the register was a fantastic, real-world learning moment that naturally built confidence and independence.
Back at the centre, the creativity kept flowing! Shreya and Addison spent the afternoon making beautifully scented candles as gifts for their mums, just because they’re special. Using French pearl and vanilla fragrance, they carefully heated and poured the wax, showing incredible focus and patience. The room filled with the warm, calming aroma of their creations, and the girls were so proud of how their candles turned out.
Days like today remind us why hands-on learning is so powerful. Whether it’s grocery shopping, creative crafts, or preparing for cooking sessions, every activity helps our participants build skills, independence, and meaningful connections, all while having fun.
